BOXES FOR CAKE POPS: WORK IN PROGRESS

Today we bring you this kind of blog post where we explain you how we work in SelfPackaging, what is the procedure to introduce you a new lovely little gift box. In this case, it’s time for the Cake Pop box.

What is a Cake Pop? Some of you may ask yourselves what it is. So, for all of you we want to dedicate this Cake Pop selection from Pinterest to you. Enjoy it ;)

What do you think about it? Sudden hunger? Looking forward to decorating a birthday table? Until now, in SelfPackaging our customers were the ones who designed a way to present the cake pops properly. As Nuria from The Cupcake Moment blog did; she was successful with our lidded box for cakes, ref. number: 2242:

If you want an original cake, Nuria is the one you are looking for…

However, this wasn’t enough for us… We want to give you a box for cake pops as soon as possible! So, we have gotten down to work! We are designing it and we want to show you what we have made… They are just prototypes, but we would like to know your opinion about them…

Firstly, we want to prepare a pair of cake pop stands. In the picture you can see our cake stand, we are trying to design a new one specially for cake pops, this is simply a trial. The idea will be making the base thicker to maintain the cake pop sticks upright and well held, in case a breeze comes to your party.
As you can see, what they contain is not cake pops either… Do you want to know how we have made it? Cheap and attractive: pink marshmallows in the shape of a mushroom, stuck on a stick. To wrap them up, we have used our coloured tissue paper and Mireia, one of our design artists, has drawn little lines and dots… Thank you Mireia for your patience! Then, a little bit of kraft cord… and they are ready! Well, the fuchsia sateen ribbon as the final detail gives it the final touch.

One of the things we will also adapt for sure are our popcorn boxes (ref.2221) to make them suitable to contain cake pops. It will be as easy as adding into them a cake pop insert, optional of course, to let you decorate your ‘oh-so-lovely’ party table.

To make these fake cake pops we have used: delicious Happy Hippo chocolates from Kinder for the big one, and the classic round lollipops (Chupa Chups) for the small one. Here once again Mireia has given us her creativity.

So… what do you think? That is not all folks! Far from it, we have a lot of ideas we want to carry out because we want to fulfil all the suggestions you have made us, but step by step… We will keep you updated.

FOX BOX ❤ ❤ ❤

We know you love DIY tutorials with downloading materials more than children love candy bars so…

Here you are! Check what super idea we give you today to make with our gift bag

The little box is reference number 2001 in our catalogue, in its small size.

Cardboard fox detail

The final result is ideal as a welcome gift for a baby. Baby showers or christening parties are not going to be bored anymore.

We have thought about everything, so you can choose between “It’s a boy” in blue or “It’s a girl” in pink.

Welcome baby

This time we are not going to give you complicated steps to follow to make the box, because they are not necessary.

The only thing you need is our gift bag ref. 2001 and these PDF files that you can download for free clicking on the image below.

Doesn’t matter if it is a baby girl or a baby boy… The result will be super cute anyway.

But, as we said, we have thought about everything… If the gift bag doesn’t suit your needs to wrap your present… What about if you prefer any other of our gift boxes?

No worries! Because you can download these decorated labels collection as well. They are ideal for that occasion.

So… baby girl or baby boy, you already have the material for your welcome presents for totally adorable babies!

Welcome baby!

CARDBOARD TRENDS: LETTERS

Today we feel like strolling on the net and bring you a pair of ideas (or more) to decorate a space with cardboard letters.

We have found thousands of examples, so we have picked some, the ones we liked the most. Let’s see what you think about our selection.

Wrapped up with old fairy tales pages, or with these encyclopaedias which we don’t want to throw  away, in spite of the existence of Wikipedia… They can be perfect to decorate that corner where we love sitting down and flicking through good books peacefully.

Pic: Kelly Hampton's blog

We have seen the letters ‘L’ ‘O’ ‘V’ ‘E’ here and there… The question is: how can you personalize them? Why don’t you decorate them with wool?

 Pic My pretty pennies' blog

In fact we already introduce this idea to you months ago in our blog about how to decorate our gift boxes with wool, or in other words, ‘wool is cool’ at Christmas.

This is another photo, whose source (if somebody helps us we’ll definitely edit the blog post), that gives us a brief idea of how nice the name of the child can look in a corner of the room. It’s a lovely idea!

The next one is not properly a DIY idea. We have to admit we found these letters already made. However we are DIY supporters, so we are sure you can make them as good as the one in the picture.

This is another decoration for a baby’s room, which we really love. We know it’s gonna be hard wrapping all the letters up, but the result is amazing.

Now we show you some options to decorate different rooms at home. In this first picture you can see the cardboard letters painted of metallic paint and they look great at the washing machine corner that  is sometimes a mess.

We couldn’t find the source of this image either, but the result is ideal to decorate the guests’ room.

And to decorate the kitchen or a living room corner nothing better than a word to whet your appetite.

And, of course, we can’t miss the opportunity of showing you some SelfPackaging decorations ‘made with carton’… For parties:

For birthdays and celebrations, with this vintage touch you get painting them and scrubbing them with sandpaper:

We have not only cardboard letters but also cardbord numbers and symbols.

At last, but not least, the new arrival we’ll show you soon (you know that the waiting issue doesn’t work for us): another font, another size… and plenty of colours…

We hope you have liked the proposed inspirations… We swear coming back soon with more news and tutorials.

EASTER EGGS TUTORIAL

Painting Easter eggs won’t be complicated anymore. In this post will give you some tips to obtain a brilliant result.

White eggs
White vinegar
Natural hemp cord
Food colorants
Paper towel
Recipients to dye each egg separately
A spoon
Black marker
A washi tape roll
Scissors

Firstly, we fill the recipients –we took plastic glasses- with water and we will add in them some food colourant drops.
Add few drops of white vinegar, which we’ll sit the colour easily on the eggs’ shell..

And with the spoon’s help, immerse an egg in each recipient.

Let the eggs settle 10 minutes’ time inside the food colourant.

Then, let the eggs dry outside the recipient. If it is so sunny as today… 3 minutes is enough

Et voilĂ ! On the coloured shell we write and draw what we want with a marker, surround the egg by hemp cord and we can make a washi tape flag hanging on it

Everything is ready, you can give our cupcake box with transparent lid as a present and… hide the eggs in the garden or inside your home. They will have a great time try to find them! ;)
