MAKE YOUR OWN CHRISTMAS CRACKERS

Christmas gatherings are the trending topic these days. Prepare all your festive food but leave a space for your DIY creations. What about handmade Christmas crackers?

Here is  a tutorial to make them, just a few guidelines, your imagination will do the rest! ;)

First of all what we need is:
- Three empty toilet rolls
- Confetti
- Balloons
- Sweets

Take the three empty toilet rolls and place them in a row on the centre of the tissue paper and roll them around it.

Just pull out one toilet roll, just a little to leave a gap between the two empty toilet rolls. Twist the tissue paper and push it in.

Take a piece of thin hemp cord and tight up your Christmas cracker. Then, remove the toilet roll and put your mini-gifts inside. Here is where your creativity wakes up. Depends on the addressee, the stuff into the cracker will be different. But if you don’t know what the addressee likes, it’d better put some party items into it (a paper hat or crown or handwriting jokes) or if you want to sweeten your dinner choose some sweets: chocolate coins, lollipops…

Do exactly the same at the other side. And that’s all! Easy and quick! You have no excuse not to have your Christmas crackers on your plate in your Christmas dinners. Decoration is up to you... We chose washi tapes and Christmas felt pendants! What is your choice?

Ta-daaaaaah!!!

It's time to read! Discover SelfPackaging books!

How many of you know that in SelfPackaging we have books about packaging design
Hands up! Mmm... Not many, I'm afraid

The thing is we have five books published. Among them we can find the best sellers Structural Packaging, Structural Displays and Structural greetings. The first of them, 'the original', has been translated into lots of languages from  English to Chinese or Italian... and it has been a hit.

Structural Packaging has sold 100,000 copies around the world!

The other two are more specific. Structural Displays contains a lot of display designs: table displays, stand displays or all the displays you can imagine.

The last one, Strcutural Greetings, which is the one we would like to talk about today is an original compilation of cards

Structural Greetings or how to say something in an original way.

If you are a design lover, this is a perfect Christmas gift for you!!!

Tutorial: original gift box

We can’t wait any longer! We want to introduce our latest design! A new gift box!
All the orders placed between Oct. 23rd and 29th, will receive a bonus gift! Five units of our new gift box! It's not even in our catalogue yet, but it will be added soon. What do you think??

While we are preparing the assembly video, here is a tutorial to show you how to make it! It's easy!

First of all, this is what you will receive (no double-sided adhesive tape required for the assembly):

- 5 elongated pieces in turquoise
- 5 elongated pieces in fuchsia

It's so easy! You just need to insert into each other, as shown, alternating the colours:

Repeat the procedure successively, a fuchsia piece, then a turquoise one, until we have this nice peacock tail

Once all the pieces are put together in place for one of the sides, we turn the ‘fan’

Next, we start fitting the other sides to each other, starting from the right-hand one and placing each one after the other, as shown, always from the bottom:

Keep going on with the process, piece by piece:

And our gift box is ready! A tidy little surprise to delight everybody… Ta-dah!

BOXES FOR CAKE POPS: WORK IN PROGRESS

Today we bring you this kind of blog post where we explain you how we work in SelfPackaging, what is the procedure to introduce you a new lovely little gift box. In this case, it’s time for the Cake Pop box

What is a Cake Pop? Some of you may ask yourselves what it is. So, for all of you we want to dedicate this Cake Pop selection from Pinterest to you. Enjoy it ;)

What do you think about it? Sudden hunger? Looking forward to decorating a birthday table? Until now, in SelfPackaging our customers were the ones who designed a way to present the cake pops properly. As Nuria from The Cupcake Moment blog did; she was successful with our lidded box for cakes, ref. number: 2242:

If you want an original cake, Nuria is the one you are looking for…

However, this wasn’t enough for us… We want to give you a box for cake pops as soon as possible! So, we have gotten down to work! We are designing it and we want to show you what we have made… They are just prototypes, but we would like to know your opinion about them…

Firstly, we want to prepare a pair of cake pop stands. In the picture you can see our cake stand, we are trying to design a new one specially for cake pops, this is simply a trial. The idea will be making the base thicker to maintain the cake pop sticks upright and well held, in case a breeze comes to your party
As you can see, what they contain is not cake pops either… Do you want to know how we have made it? Cheap and attractive: pink marshmallows in the shape of a mushroom, stuck on a stick. To wrap them up, we have used our coloured tissue paper and Mireia, one of our design artists, has drawn little lines and dots… Thank you Mireia for your patience! Then, a little bit of kraft cord… and they are ready! Well, the fuchsia sateen ribbon as the final detail gives it the final touch.

One of the things we will also adapt for sure are our popcorn boxes (ref.2221) to make them suitable to contain cake pops. It will be as easy as adding into them a cake pop insert, optional of course, to let you decorate your ‘oh-so-lovely’ party table.

To make these fake cake pops we have used: delicious Happy Hippo chocolates from Kinder for the big one, and the classic round lollipops (Chupa Chups) for the small one. Here once again Mireia has given us her creativity.

So… what do you think? That is not all folks! Far from it, we have a lot of ideas we want to carry out because we want to fulfil all the suggestions you have made us, but step by step… We will keep you updated.
